Smucker Pledges York County Office
Lloyd Smucker, Republican candidate for State Senator in the 13th District of Pennsylvania, today pledged that, if elected, he would open a district office in York County to complement a traditional Lancaster County-based office.
"The people of York County should have the same easy availability to their Senator and all the services offered by him as the citizens of Lancaster County. That’s why, if I am elected, I will open a district office in the York County portion of the 13th State Senate District,” said Smucker.
“As I have talked with voters over the past two months, it has become clear to me that the people of York County want a locally situated office to call their own,” continued Smucker. “I agree with them that they deserve a convenient location they can visit to express their opinions and ideas to their Senator, and find out more information about state programs that may help them. That is why I am making this pledge today.”
Smucker, the only candidate in the race for State Senator with experience as both a successful businessman and proven local official who never raised property taxes, has been calling and visiting voters throughout the 13th Senate District since his entry into the campaign. In those calls, he has heard strong support for his candidacy and his unique “2 for 4 Plan” which will cut government spending and use the money for direct property tax relief.
"As I have campaigned across Lancaster and York Counties, it’s evident that people want a new way in Harrisburg – a business way that puts a premium on efficiency and effectiveness. And it is clear they agree with me that we need bold ideas like my 2 for 4 Plan -- instead of the same tired promises made by the career politicians in this race,” concluded Smucker.
